So, here on Progressive U, we want you to think about progress. We want you to discuss ways our society can progress, or what needs to be changed in our society. Without getting cliche (and having judged the Think Progress contest entries, I know what cliche is on this topic), progress is making things better, for everyone involved.

Liberals Suck/Conservatives are a waste of space
I have to say something, and I don't care how many people hear it, just as long as someone does.

The liberal versus conservative anomaly
There's something I've noticed. I'm pretty sure it's always existed, but it wasn't until I started following the threads of topics around on Progressive U that I really realized what was happening. And I don't fully understand why it happens, just that it does. And I'd love to hear your commentary.

Crazy Liberals. How Dare They?
Crazy liberals!
How dare you question the status quo?
How dare you have high hopes for the future of our nation?
How dare you hope for peace?
How dare you work to level the playing field for all people?
How dare you care about the least among us?
How dare you spend our taxes for the betterment of society?
How dare you NOT spend our taxes on war?

Growing up lesbian in Israel, part I
This is part one of a document I will hopefully eventually be submitting for "prior learning" college credit. Comments are greatly appreciated!

What's a True Conservative to Do?
The liberals had Camelot, and the conservatives had Ronald Reagan. Since the 1980s we have been blundering along, hoping for a President who would do the United States better than Reagan's successor, George Bush. Every election year, I get excited, wondering who could be elected, who I could count on to beat the candidate put forth by the Democratic Party.

The Church and the Primaries
Supposedly we live in a country where church and state are separated, however, weekly attending a Baptist Church, I have found that some churches just can’t help but get involved in politics. One week the church announced they had printed a voter’s guide with information about the various candidates. Its purpose, or so they stated, was not to tell anyone who to vote for, but simply to inform.
Diversity in Southern Suburbia
Until the second quarter of my third grade year, I was just a normal, blonde-haired, brown-eyed, middle-class kid; then, my parents got divorced. The funny thing was: my parents never fought. Besides the one time that Mom and Dad argued over what kind of cream cheese to buy from Wal-Mart, I had never witnessed them quarrel. The counselor always taught students how to deal with divorce when parents fought, but I had no idea what to do because my parents didn’t. It didn’t make sense. Why would my parents get divorced if they never fought? “We just fell out of love.” A few weeks after Mom moved out, she took her eight-year-old, blonde-haired daughter into the living room and made her different. My mom sat down on the floor with me, in front of the Christmas tree, and taught me what “gay” meant. My mom was gay. "
