We're All Hiding From One Another

Tagged:  •    •    •

My self-esteem has been running a little low lately, my feelings getting confused again thanks to, of all things, an anime in which I identified with the main character a little more than I wanted to. All of this inner turmoil will take time to get rid of and sort out.

It's moving on a little more quickly, however, thanks to the wonderful timing of God.

Higher Taxes - Are They Really That Bad?

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •

It seems like nobody wants higher taxes. People just want to keep as much of their money as possible because they want to feel secure and of course, be able to spend their money. They want to make sure their families have money. And all of this for what? In order to be happy.

Next time you're in a lecture hall, or on a bus or in the grocery store, look around. Count off people in fours. Now everytime you reach four, pause on that person, not too long, just a monent then go on the next four.

Why am I asking you to do this exercise?

What's Wrong with My Mega-School

I did not move to Texas until high school; I’d grown up primarily in central Illinois before the move, attending a series of schools nestled into cornfields, where the largest graduation class had been somewhere around two hundred.

I'm am Catholic. Sometimes, I'm not very good at it, but I like it. Even during Lent, when everyone who asks me what I gave up for Lent gets the witty reply of "Being Catholic."

I am not a huge fan of the church i'm going to. I stay there so I can be with my grandpa and because I like the priest. Even the substitute priest we have now since Fr. Joe went on sabbatical to Africa.
