College Affordability

Can we really afford college?

I know I'm not the only one out there who is expecting to be in at least $20,000 in debt by the time I graduate. While I know the easy solution to any problem is to attend a State School or Community College, the solution isn't that easy. Banks are refusing to give loans to students attending community college, and less selective four year colleges.

You Can't Take My Scholarship From Me!

After weeks of not knowing what school to go to and constantly debating one school against the other, I finally chose a college based on the financial aid I was receiving. I didn't think I would be attending this school since the tuition is $43,000 a year. FAFSA had advised me to take out $30,000 in loans. When it seemed like I wouldn't be going, I find the perfect scholarship for me.

I want to go there. No...here.

Is anyone crushing your dreams or ambitions right now? If they are, I sympathize with you. If no one is, please get what I'm saying.

"Welcome To Your New Home"

Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30 am, got dressed and ready, woke up my parents, and set off to Maryland for Accepted Students Day. Although I was anxious, I slept most of the way in the car. When we arrived at the college and I was a little disappointed.

College Was Affordable, Until I Realized...

Tagged:  •    •    •

When I first began my college search, I found colleges that were only $20-25,000. Yes, now I realize that that's a lot of money, but I figured I would get enough financial aid to cover some of it. That $25,000 is just the tuition. That doesn't cover room and board or meals. I've always wanted to move out my house and live at college for a few reasons, but now I'm wondering if it's worth it.

Is It Just Me

Is it just me or are all high school seniors sick of the college process?
By now, we have found from most, if not all of our selected colleges if we got accepted or rejected. So you've narrowed it down to your top choices, sent in FAFSA, got your financial aid packages, only to have not enough money. So you search and search for scholarships.
