In America if you lived in the 50's or if your old enough to remeber politcs up through the early 90's then you probably have a skewed view on communism. most likely if you got all your 'facts' and information from the propaganda machine that is the TV media you believe communism is inherantly evil and anything associated with communism is evil.
Oh political science class....pretty much guaranteed to give me something to write about.
On of the books we're reading during this half of the term is by Bernard Goldberg (for those of you that keep up with political opinion publications, Goldberg also wrote Bias and 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America), called Crazies to the Left of Me, Wimps to The Right, which frankly is a disgustingly condescending piece of swill that masquerades under the guise of "Well, neither side is that great right now...but not matter what, I'm always right." All that aside though, today there was a particular portion of the book that caught my eye:
