throughout the ages humanity has conquered many things. we have conquered our lack of knowledge. from the caves we have tools and clothing. from there knowledge soon had become something "valuable," something better not to share, unless something of equal "value," would be traded.
civilization

What is Civilization really about?
Today, the economics/government teacher brought to our attention just how mythical our belief in privacy and security has been in the states.
Earthquakes, storms, floods, OH MY! Is the world coming to an end?
With each year, there have been catastophic occurences such as storm, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes like never before. Some think we are destroying the world and causing this.
On civilization
One may define civilization as a function of a society’s capacity for art, innovation in scientific and technological enterprises, refinery in economic and business practices, cordiality in diplomatic relations, fairness and reciprocity in the distribution of wealth, or any of the other trivial elements of so-called “civilized” culture. I reject these criteria.

Oh, how curious we humans are! (My environmental-related post.)
I will be discussing humanity as a whole in this post. I don't like global warming since I know nothing about it, and apparently, even scientists, the supposed-to-be masters of objectivity, disagree. Whether it's faulty knowledge or bias, I don't know, or care. I'll touch lightly on it, but I won't talk much in depth about it.
