Dear Smoker,

This is a letter to kindly request that you discontinue blowing smoke in my face. If necessary, perhaps you could stand or walk downwind from me. I do not mean to offend you, but as you might have heard, smoking is very hazardous to the health. I do not wish to be subjected to your second hand smoke.

Bad Habits Die Hard

Tagged:  •    •

Today I am going to attempt to accomplish what, in my eyes, may be the most "progressive" thing I will do this year. I just attached a nicotine patch to my arm in the hopes that this will truly be my last attempt at throwing out the cigarettes for good.

why i smoke cigarettes

I'm not committed to too many things in this life. I like to write, I like to have a great time, and I like to smoke cigarettes. It's my life, that's how I choose to lead it.
So it's stupid to some people. They say it'll probably kill me off early. But not, of course, before I succumb to a long, painful demise. And that'll be that for me.

The Smoking Ban

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

I live in Ohio. It is one of the states being effected by the "Smoking Ban". There is NO smoking in publically owned buildings or within so many yards of the building. There are signs everywhere that include a 1800 number to call if you witness an establishment violating the rules. You will be rewarded for reporting violations.

In this sequel post to follow up "Attacking Anti-Smoking Propaganda and Anti-Smoking Hypocrities", I am focusing on one of the several arguments in particular put forth: the argument that eating animal products kills more people than smoking.

Buy cigarettes out of state and go to jail

Tagged:  •

I live in Tennessee and recently they increased the tax on cigarettes. This has caused many Tennesseans that live close to the boarders to drive out of state and buy cigarettes cheap. But, there is a law in place that if you buy more than 2 cartons of cigs out of state and cross the boarder with them; you cigs will be confiscated, you can get fined, go to jail or even get your car impounded.
