Last year on Christmas, I opened presents, went to Greenfield Park, visited with family, and ate turkey.
This year, I had about 4 cups of coffee, ate some vegetarian bologna, and made this weird-ass apple pie thing for dessert.

Goodness gracious. What a day.
Do you ever look back on the day and think "I had no idea, getting out of bed, that today was going to go as it did?" Yeah, today was one of those days. Nothing horrible happened, no huge revelations occurred, but it was one of those emotionally-heavy laden days.
Most of us has heard the Christmas story. The story about a virgin birth, the angels, the shephards, and the wise men. Are you picturing a stable with a star laden canopy above wrapped in a still quiet air? An occasionally bawh of a sheep, or the nah of Mary's donkey?

Really, We all turn to one another and ask, "what are you doing for winter break/christmas?"
And my classmate says, "absolutely nothing."
Confused, I asked, "Nothing? No gifts, no parties?"

Today my great-grandfather of 101 years old passed away. You might think that this is sad, but in some ways it is the most joyful thing to hear at Christmas time. My great grandfather gets to spend Christmas in heaven this year, and for him I know this will be the greatest Christmas gift ever!

I have not posted a blog in about ten days. I told myself I would not post a blog until I had something to say, and I didn't post anything. So now, I have something to say.
