At the age of 5, right after our preschool graduation, my best friend Ricardo "Cardo" passed away of a brain tumor. I can't remember the first time I wrote a poem about him, but I must have been about 7 years old or so. I don't have the original copy, but I will never forget what I was thinking then.

Hypocricy: crying out about Darfur and Kenya while avoiding eye contact and crossing the road to purposely ignore the homeless man sitting on the sidewalk asking for change. Or maybe he's just sitting there.

Today I got the chance to help out a friend whom I haven't seen in a long time. It was a completely random meeting and the timing couldn't have been any better.
