Get Some Rest.....At a Hospital????

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

I work in a hospital. I love my job, but as I am sitting here listening to the receptionist check in those who are coming for a long term visit, I am wondering why they are being told they will get a nice rest?

Volunteerism: What's the point?

I have read a few blogs today that seem to question the effectiveness and the usefulness of providing their time, unpaid, to many American not-for-profit organizations. After reading this, I first became a little sad that so much apathy exists in our generation.

The impact of a single good deed

Anybody who has seen the superbowl or prime time television at all in the past two years has probably seen the Liberty Mutual Insurance commercial where a man picks up a toy and puts it back in the stroller a woman was pushing, later, the woman is at a bakery and moves a man's coffee away from the edge of the table, and so on and so forth, people do good things for others.

Health Care In the USA.

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

I would think that here in this great country our government would have us taken care of. I was raised in Mexico my first 7 years of life, and I am so glad that I was born here in the good US of A; however, I do wish that we would all have free healthcare like in Mexico. In Mexico, the people in the community keep the clinic open with volunteer time per family or person per month.
