Something irks me more than anything else. I cannot stand it, especially after being on this site for a year and a half, being a faculty member for a year of that. I have read all sorts of different opinions about various topics.
beliefs

Oh, I'm on the Fence...

One of the most controversial subjects...
Religion. One of the world's most controversial subjects. Good versus evil. One of the most used themes in literature, movies, etc.
Last night, I watched the movie, Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weiss. I also watched the A&E series, Paranormal State. If you're unfamiliar with them, they both deal with demons and other paranormal things.

The Right To Die
You know how adults are always asking kids what they want to be when they grow up?

the question I will never understand
Here's a question I've been pondering lately and the thoughts I've come up with about it....
why do bad things happen to good people?
On belief reinforcement
Exposing oneself to ideas that reinforce what one already believes is among the most dangerous, yet unfortunately most common practices by people today. It is one of the principle causes of a lack of understanding, which furthermore incites hate, prejudice, dogma, insularity, presupposition, naivety, and separatism.

Not feeling like one of my own
I've gone to church since I was in 8th grade. During those akward years for me, it was always the one place I felt comfortable, at home, and loved and accepted. I'll be the first person to admit I am far from perfect, but I always atleast tried to make others feel as comfortable as I did at church, whether I was at church or not.

God
I was raised Jewish. I love that heritage and everything, but to be honest, my family is more of high holidays; once in a blue moon we attend services type of Jew. I strongly believe that at the end of every year it is necessary to ask forgiveness for all the wrong you’ve done, to start a new year with a clean slate and all.
Everyone is worshiping something
Everyone is worshiping something. Even if you are an atheist, then you either belive in Nothing or you believe in Yourself, and what good is that? We have seen little reason to put faith in human beings. No can be perfect 100% of the time-- I don't think anyone can argue that. We are flawed.
