The other day I was really angry at my mom for various reasons; mainly, because I had to drive her around for what seemed like the longest errand of my life. My mom tried talking to me in the car about something she assumed I was doing and ended up getting me really frustrated and start screaming at her. I was yelling at her and she was yelling back, really loudly if I might add.
A few days ago I confronted my mom about trust isuues I have with her. (Read about it: http://www.progressiveu.org/134156-i-dont-trust-you-anymore) She turned this situation around and began to say that she doesn't trust me.
This might seem like a strange topic; I haven't really seen anyone else write about it.
My sister works her ass off everyday. She's 21 and is raising her boyfriend's daughter. She works as a leasing agent at an apartment complex and one of her used-to-be really good friends is her boss. Big mistake I know, but they usually get along. Unless...well here's the latest...
I just back from filling out some paper work today for my new job as a lifeguard, and my new boss mentioned that part of the reason she hired me had to do with a previous theft of my personal belongings. No, it wasn’t a pity hire, it was because she liked the way I had handled myself. Let me give you some back story.
I own a light green sweater that I purchased based solely on the fact that its brand was Great American Sweater. It made me feel like I was participating in some grand tradition involving fireworks and stars-n-stripes stove pipe hats. Or campfires and fingers sticky from too many s'mores.
So am I proud to own a Great American Sweater? In other words, what is my attitude toward my country?
Okay so I'm just venting a little.
See I've lived in Florida practically my whole life. I have always enjoyed it here, I mean this is really all I've ever known, and I'm fine with it. Beyond the busy busy tourist seasons, and the 80 degree winter seasons, I've pretty much always been fine living here.....That was until....I visited the Carolinas.
