Well even though my title and my post so far have been of no purpose whatsoever, I feel the need to relate it to April Fool's. What this blog is actually about is April Fool's representations in other countries or cultures.

So April Fool's Day is tomorrow. I had hoped to write a blog about the history of April Fool's Day a couple days in advance, but I guess this is the best I could do.

For those who haven't seen my username yet, I'm in China. As a foreign teacher, I love sharing all those obscure cultural tidbits that sometimes don't compute in the minds of my students. Now I'm wondering if I try to play an April Fool's joke on them, say fake a heart attack, will they get it? Is it worth the risk of freaking some of my students out and making them cry?
