Why does it seem like so many of us are upset, disgruntled, or downright offended by the success of others?

A Better America Part 2:Why are we called African American??
This is a pivotal time in America. Presidental candidates are defending thier faith, which seems like an oxymoron (separation of church and state). Race is one of the hottest topics in politics. Don Imus, still is not forgotten. Why?
I want to hear you say I'm better than you.
It’s all about us- the few, the proud, the American. Our values are different- family is no longer the centerpiece of life. We care about ourselves, and our image. Image is everything. Dress to impress. Image sells. Look your best. Work so hard that you don’t rest, then you can keep up with the best. Just tell me how great I am. Do it.

My American Dream
I adore how by living in America I get to witness a miracle every day. Particularly in my home town. It seems like there is always some kind of marathon or charity or new foundation parading through the streets. Just today I was volunteering to work a water stop at a race for the cure marathon downtown.

A girl against feminism
Recently my English teacher has become obsessed with convincing my class to follow feminist beliefs and I can't help but think this is completely ridiculous!

Democrazy
This is my first post, be gentile.
Disclaimer: This post may offend. I can only hope it will. Oh, and I'm a terrible speller.
It has come to my understanding recently that we live in what is known to a large part of the world as a representative democracy, which is, to my understanding, rule by people over themselves through elected representatives. Correct me if I'm wrong.
What about those we pass by?
Living at the university, we see them every day.
They're in the hallways, sweeping the walks, as we stumble out of bed to our 8:00 classes - they've been up since 4:00.
