I had actually wrote this blog ages ago, but it was around the time my computer just died on me, and I couldn't recover it. I've just now had time to sit down and rewrite it.

Tom Ford has recently released controversial advertisements. The images feature a new scent for men. The scent will be successful. Not because it smells sexy and mysterious, but rather because the advertisements are erotic and enticing.

Advertising: For Better or For Worse?
According to the 'experts' we see advertising everyday, on billboards, at school, even at home. Billboards range from a local pizzeria just off of exit 14 on highway 400 to an adult store on interstate 40 in Tennessee. At school posters display information about this semester's musical or the next math club meeting. Even at home, phone books place lawyer adds on the binds.

I worked at McDonald's for over 2 years during high school. The days there were fun and I enjoyed my coworkers and management. Eating there was cheap and easy since I worked there and could get discounts. I have moved off to college and in the past three months I have only had McDonald's once.

There's no question that the biggest forum for advertisement is Television. Whether it's cable or local, children or adult oriented, late night or prime time, there are no channels that don't incorporate some type of advertisement into their programming. (please forgive the double-negative.)

As I was doin' my thing on the computer today, my dad and I were watching Tom and Jerry. Because this is what we used to watch --- my brother and I --- when we were very little, and even now, all these years later... I still remember the feeling of what it was like to be just 5-years old, and brand new in America.
