Home is where the heart is, or so they say. But what if your heart is stuck wandering around, lost, with no sense of direction?

Overdosing: Not Just for Addicts Anymore
Drug overdosing is the second leading cause of accidental deaths. If you haven’t already guessed, automobile accidents are the first. Unfortunately, not enough high school and college aged kids view this subject with the amount of severity it deserves. Between 1999 and 2004 the number of deaths caused by accidental overdose rose 62.5%.

The One time Rule
I am thankful for my best friend. She grew up in a not so ‘white picket fence’ home. For a time, she had to survive and tolerate her mother’s abusive boyfriend who later became her mother’s husband (that is after some jail time lots of counseling and drug rehab). My friend is the one that brought to my attention how I am and the one that helped me come up with the one time rule to protect us from the things that can happen.

teens and drugs
1,400 teens die from drug overdose every year. Drugs have taken a big toll on teens. Peer pressure is one of the main causes for so many teens using drugs. A little after our 6 mos. anniversary, I learned that he had lied to me about multiple things.

Goodbye, Guilt.
Home is supposed to be a place of serenity, a place to relax, a place to be yourself and unwind. What if home is not that? What if you are terrified to go home? Where does one find the time and place to let the mind heal?

Child Abuse
The other day on the news, there was a story of several families in this one rural area I believe, in Texas that were suspected of abusing their children, so CPS (Child Protective Services) took the children away for DNA testing, which to me was a huge shock because I didn't know that they (CPS) could do such a thing. The parents of the children look wicked crazy too!
