For those of you who joined early in 2008, you may wonder why I have not been active much. Well, for a minute I was smothered in finals papers, and working the next dead end job. My summer plans were nothing, and then, while riding the subway one day I noticed an advertisement for student interns. I immediately wrote down the number and vowed to call them later.
What makes a career worthwhile? Is it doing something you love? Making a difference? Does a career have to be worthwhile?
A few days ago Fox News idiot Bill "I beat sexual harassment cases with my wallet" O'Rielly showed sexually sugestive pictures of Disney Channel star Miley Cirus. Bill's beef with the Disney star was that her fans, the girls who look up to her, wouldn't be positively encouraged my her suggestive pictures. I agree.
My high school counselors really weren't joking when they said that college would be the best and most expensive time of my life. It has really been the best time of my life in regards to all the people that I've met, the professors I've been able to learn from and the free products/services I've managed to procure from my school and all of this done while at a community college.
It is certainly understandable that we live in a society with gore filled movies and descriptive books and pictures. Apparently society back during the mid 20th century was more responsive to news such as genocide and war. The Holocaust received much response from people when it was revealed (of course gradually) and the Vietnam War caused the outcry of many people.
Sitting in class at the end of 4th period usually is the most exciting time of the day. We sit and talk about the current things all teenagers talk about. Well in todays discussion somehow the end of the world came up. And a student was adement on explaining that we were going to go into a great depression and the world is so polluted and messed up that the world was going to end in 2012.
I am a new member to this site. In the first two hours as a new member, I was a little confused in regards of what message my blog entries should contain. I surfed around this site and read a couple of blogs posted by young folks in order to orientate myself. I subscribed to this web site expecting a chance to win a scholarship.
