am I the only who has noticed that the media has gone insane? all it seems to care about is celebrities. How skinny they are, what their baby looks like, what the baby's name is, if its adopted, who's getting married, who's getting divorced, who's cheating, what they're wearing... the list is endless! I live in a suite with 5 other girls. they are OBSESSED with celebrities! each week we have about 15 new magazines it seems like. People, Us weekly, Star, all of those stupid tabloid magazines. and all of them have the SAME EXACT THING in them! Who ares that Nicole Richie weighs 80 pounds? Who cares what Suri Cruise/Holmes looks like? Who cares that Madonna adopted a little African boy who's father is still alive? Who cares that Angelina Jolie passed out in India? America does. and the media feeds off of this. Its really terrible. No other country is as obsessed with celebrities as America. I went to England for a week last summer and there was no E! TV channel. There wasn't any channel really that focused on what celebrity was taking a crap at that exact moment. America is obsessed with celebrities, and its sickening. Why else would celebrities have body guards? they're afraid of being stalked and killed like in the past. E! actually had a special on the "Most Horrifying Hollywood Murders". There was an actress who was killed by a fan who stalked her. Selena, the singer, was killed by the president of her fan club because the woman was jelous. Its rediculous. All you hear about on the news is celebrities, murders, rapes, various other crimes, terrorist attacks, and war. but celebrities aren't nearly as important as the rest. It just aggrivates me.

I'm pretty much new to this site. so I figured I'd write a little bit about myself and my personal views.

My name is Aubrey. I'm a 17 year old Freshman at SUNY New Paltz. I'm living in a suite style dorm with 5 other really cool girls.

I'm from a little town north of Syracuse, NY. There's pretty much nothing to do up there but drink, get high, and hunt. I do none of those. instead, I live by the Straight Edge lifestyle. I don't drink, I don't do drugs, and I don't have sex. pretty simple. I feel very strongly about this. I have a lot of fun being sober and I don't want to compromise my life just to have a night of "fun". I'm also a vegetarian (this explains the not hunting part). I have been for a little over two years. I love it. I feel much better about myself, and I feel healthier. I'm not a junk food vegetarian either. I eat lots of vegetables, and fruits. I try to not have as much dairy because I want to be a vegan. I'm slowly getting there.
