My 11th grade English teacher is dying. He is 38 years old. He has stage 4 stomach cancer, and at that point less than 35% of people survive. When I first heard he was ill I was terrified, the word Cancer scared me. I’m not sure if it was that I was sure he would get better and return to school, or if I just chose not to deal with the fact he may die.

Senioritis: a documented illness in which it’s victims become absolutely useless as a person. Affects most students during the last year of high school. Symptoms include laziness and general apathy.

What makes some one successful? Is it the amount of money they make? Is it the size of a house they live in? Or is it where they went to college? Is there really more to being successful then money.

When I was in science class today we were doing some work on some really old computers. I guess they weren't really that old, probably around 1995 or so but to us students they were old.

Myspace is one big, screaming, Lollapalooza orgy comprised of desperate high school boys and girls. It's the ultimate game of testing your ego. It becomes a competition of seeing who has the most friends, so you add everyone you've made eye contact with in the past 6 years, constantly posting bulletins telling people to comment on your NEW PICZ PLZ or die.

On average Americans see over 3,000 advertisements per day. They are not only on TV and in magazines, but on billboards, gas pumps, stadiums, on the side of buses and on park benches. Advertising is becoming impossible to avoid. Even outer space is not ad free, in 2000 the Russian space program launched a rocket with a 30 foot Pizza Hut logo on it.
