Michael Moore's "Sicko" is worth watching. Even if you don't agree with Moore's politics or think he's the devil in disguise, seeing how foreigners view health care is interesting. Moore goes to France, Canada, England, and Cuba to look at how universal health care is run by each government.

Give a Big Cheer for www.halfofus.org
I was exercising at my school's gym the other day when I saw an ad on MTVU about self-cutting. The ad was from a site called www.halfofus.org. I visited the site. It tells the stories of people who have gone through depression, anxiety, and near suicide. I wish more people would have the courage to talk about these issues.

Why Can't We Have a Hybrid Set of Beliefs?
The trouble with being outside of religion is deciding what exactly you are going to believe. Religion can no longer tell you what to believe. But then again there are many philosophies outside of religion to consider. So what do you decide on? I would like a combination of atheism/existentialism/naturalism. I say combination because each of these philosophies has a side I don't necessarily agree with. Too often it seems like Atheists are concerned with disproving there is a god. From what I can tell this is a pretty pointless quest. Some people are going to believe in God no matter what you say. And they're more than happy to argue with you. And there's the problem of man's limited senses. There are aspects of reality that we can never experience. The metaphysical world is always going to be, at least in part, a mystery. There is no concrete evidence to prove God’s existence and a negative can never be proven. On the other hand Atheism can be refreshingly honest. There's simply no way to tell what happens after death. And Atheism is willing to admit this. There's no need to fear a mythological hell. An Atheist lives as if God does not exist. He uses his own judgment instead of a supposedly divine commandment. His mind must make ethical decisions. This reliance on self instead of an invisible God is something that I find admirable.
