I got some simultaneously good and bad news. Amy is leaving in two weeks to go live with her biological mother. Amy and I hung out again today. She got new glasses and she looks beautiful. I found out today that her caregivers are her aunt and uncle. Didn't know that... She's such a sweet girl, though. Fun. So, things didn't work out with Nikki. I don't know exactly what happened, but Children's Services were in contact with her and my supervisor decided to give me another girl to mentor. We were supposed to hang out on Fridays. I called last Friday to make plans for the day. Her mother answered and I asked for Nikki. She said Nikki was sleeping and asked who was calling. I'm currently taking a course called Reflections on Community Involvement. This required curriculum class involves classroom discussion and examination of ethics and what makes up a good community and a well-lived life.
