Adoption outside the box? What does she mean? Adoption rules and regulations have changed over the years. And a lot of it is for the good, like open adoption. Also, the "traditional family" is not the only people that are allowed to adopt children. No longer can only a married woman and man be the only ones who can adopt. Now homosexual couples are allowed to adopt and so can single men and women. I think this is great. There are so many children waiting for families and I don't think it should matter whether a couple wanting to adopt are homosexual, hetrosexual, or a single parent. I used to watch Adoption Stories all the time on the Discovery Health Channel and a single lady adopted a child from overseas. It was so great the way she loved and nurtured her child. There was a homosexual, single man who adopted a preteen boy. They were so happy and bonded well together. There were two homosexual male couples who adopted also. One adopted a newborn baby boy in an open adoption with his birth mother. His birth mother died in his sleep one night. They said their son would always know how much she loved him. And the other couple adopted a preteen girl with emotional problems. All of them were good parents, and I would like to think they still are. I know some disagree that homosexual couples should adopt, but my personal opinion is that if they will be good parents to a child or children, homosexual, hetrosexual, or single, it should not matter. Chocolate is the Cure
Chocolate is now said to help with headaches. Heehee, as if I needed another reason to eat chocolate. Seriously though, studies now say that chocolate can help get rid of headaches. I am not saying it is a cure all for every headache, and will help everyone with every headache. Also, I have been told that chocolate or other kinds of sweets actually give people headaches. So, chocolate in those cases may not be good. Read More »

Murder by the Book?
I know this topic may cause some controversy and get some people upset, but I have to say that I am not thrilled at all about O.J. Simpson publishing a book. especially one of this kind. From what I have heard about it on the news, he is telling how he would have killed Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman "if" he had done it. Even the publishers of his book consider it to be his confession. Read More »

Health Benefits of Medical Primetime Shows
I saw on the news the other day that there are health benefits to watching primetime health shows. It has been proven that people who watch those shows (like ER, Scrubs, etc.) pay more attention to their health and go to the doctor more than they did if they did not watch these types of shows. People are learning from them and taking care of themselves better. I think that is wonderful and I am glad that these shows are around. I am for almost anything that gets people to pay more attention to their health and take better care of themselves.

Black Market for Whitening Products?
I saw on the news Thursday night that in the Dallas area (and I would not be surprised if it is happening all over the United States), that people are stealing teeth whitening products from drugstores to sell on the black market. I am not sure how the black market works because I have never bought or sold anything on it and I never will. I can't imagine why people would buy on the black market, except for maybe convience. For one reason, I know it is illegal. For another, there is no guarantee on the products you buy. I just don't understand the black market, where everyday people can buy babies and toothpaste all in the same day. It is so wrong.

Benefits of Open Adoption
Open adoption starts when the potential birth mother (and sometimes also the potential birth father) choose a family that they want to adopt their child. Open adoption is when a potential birth mother and the potential adoptive family she has chosen to adopt her baby (sometimes the potential birth father is also part of an open adoption), get to know each other while the potential birth mother is pregnant, and after the baby is born, the adoptive send pictures of the child, updates about the child, and the birth parents visit the adoptive parents and the child.
