What's up with the recruitment to one's religion?  I don't try to convert people to my philosophy.  My philosophy just is what it is and It makes perfect sense of the Universe for me so far.  So why do people of various religious groups and cults try to recruit new members?  What are they after?  Sometimes it is money.  Scientology and the Catholics seem to be doing pretty well financially.  Sometimes it is Megalomaniacle Power.  Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and Osama Bin Laden have crafted empires with their cult recruits.  Then you have the petty managers, and Field recruits all on the chain of command pyramid.  If you don't believe it, and you are in a religion that recruits people, then you are one of the lower members on the command pyramid that feeds the heads of the pyramid with either your time, talent or money.  They will never let anyone know of course, because that would collapse their pyramid.  That is why they so feverishly try to act like they really believe in what they are preaching.  Read More »

Why are Religious Fundamentalists so Desperate?

They are in Denial.  Denial that their beliefs are wrong.  Denial that Others exist in the world and we all have to share it eventually.  Denial that they live in a world where things aren't black and white but shades of grey and many different colors even!  Every day their belief sounds more and more rediculous in the face of truth.  We need to help them.  They are severely troubled and mentally fragile people.  Those of us who see the world a one large group of fellow humans helping eachother and caring for the world we live in must find a place for them that they will be happy with.  Because right now they refuse to take part in the world community.  They Isolate us and lead us to war when they run the government (Look at the Taliban in Afghanistan for instance).  They promote hatred and division.  They poison truth with phony debates about creationism in schools.  We are witnessing a group of desperate people in denial of truth and hate those who are happy with the truth.  They seek to destroy this world out of this hatred.  They are in the throwes of death and now desperate and dangerous.  PLEASE Let us get a debate going on how to help these Fundamentalists (Christian and other) back into society and the world with those of us who want peace, love and happiness.  Read More »

I just realized how this whole point/blog thing works...

We are not being judged by the content, but by the sensationalism that our comments make.  It is appealing to the survival of the most rediculous, just like how the media decides what to air on TV.  Intelligent blogs get no play, while crap that gets people fired up are pushed to the top of the charts.

The whole Evolution "Debate" is often misleading.  First of all, most people don't know what the difference between a Theory and Myth are.

Evolution is a Theory.  A theory is a hypothesis that has NEVER BEEN PROVEN WRONG by definition.

A Myth is a story that is made up and not true.  In other words, unlike a theory it HAS BEEN PROVEN WRONG.

Why, would ANYONE want to teach fiction as Fact!?  That is just crazy!  If we are to teach myth, then what stops us from teaching children that the Moon is made of Cheese, and that if you say some magic words, your bean sprouts will grow taller than if you didn't.  Or if you do this prayer dance, your grass will grow greener than if you don't do the prayer dance.  All this superstitious stuff may be good for preschoolers along with Mother Goose fairy tales, but NOT presented as fact!  Read More »

 If you believe Homosexuality is a Choice, then think about this Truth for a bit and let me know what you think...

If someone say's homosexuality is a Choice, then they MUST be attracted equally to BOTH males and Females, since they CHOSE one of the two by their own words.  Therefore if one believes Homosexuality is a Choice, then they must be bisexual.
