What Have You Done Today?

Tonight I went to go see a new movie that just came out this weekend. In fact it was number 2 on the box office charts (just after Wall-E because who can resist adorable robots). Yes, I had the honor of watching Wanted tonight with my smuggled ice cream and new friends.

Sheltering Campus

Where I go to school I am receiving a top-notch education in my field. My mentors and professors are leading my mind to a fully developed and well rounded education in my department. The experience I am gaining here in fewer years than most is jumping me far ahead on my career ladder.

Warnings You Can't Ignore

As I am walking back to my apartment from lunch with friends yesterday I caught a glimpse of something unusual. Very out of place for an old-fashioned women's college. For you see, because our campus is split down the middle by two of the main streets in town we have two overpass bridges to allow for easy pedestrian traffic at all hours without the inconvience of waiting for traffic lights.

This summer I am enrolled in STI (Summer Theatre Institute) as part of my BFA program. Basically this is theatre Boot Camp and since I am a tech major this is double trouble for me. One of the classes I am involved in during the day is a tech class where I must learn such things as rendering, lighting, sound design, stage management, house managing, costuming, etc etc.

Going Down With the Ship

For the past few hours I have been watching a mini-series/movie on ION about the Titanic (Catherine Zeta-Jones plays a role as well as Tim Curry). This is certainly one of the best portrayals of the Titanic, and much better than the cheesy romantic tragedy of Rose and Jack from the motion picture.

Recommendation: Reading Keely & Du is highly recommended after reading this blog. It is short and can be read in an hour.

Jane Martin, the author of Keely & Du is actually a group of men writing plays under this pseudo-name.

When You Can't Believe Your Eyes

How was your day today? Same old same old? As creatures of habit, it is very easy to get caught in a rut in our daily lives. We have the same hours at work, the same classes at the same times, the same practice schedules. Sometimes we are just buying time until the next chance to cut loose and have a good break from the routine.
