I have always interpreted my empowerment to be able to act and live on the equal playing field of men. Yes as a woman, I have qualities much better than a man, and yet I find it empowering I have entitled myself to the same liberating activities of men. Equality is about choice.

Abused Women, I am sorry.

I wanted to use this blog to be progressive. What I thought was progressive was broadening my horizons by sharing my opinions and reading the opinions of others on current political issues: the presidential race, environmental issues, current news stories. But now I'm sitting here realizing that within my own life, I have made a progressive observation.

This month's issue (February) of Popular Science listed America's Top 50 greenest cities. Each city was scored on different scales for emissions, recycling, water conservation, and how much the community cared about environmental issues. I quickly scanned the list looking for my city.

Thanks for the Effort Flu Vaccine

Once again, another winter passes and I get sick for the second time this season. And no, against everyone without a PhD's opinion, it is not the flu. Now last season, I'll admit, I did not for the fifth year in a row did not receive a flu shot and exceeded in achievement by catching both strains A and B of influenza.

USDA officials have recalled 143 million pounds of beef, enough meat to feed two hamburgers to every man woman and child in the United States, as reported by the Associated Press. A video broadcast across the nation showed sickening and cruel abuse of ill, dying, or crippled cattle at a slaughterhouse associated with the recall.
