Big 10 overrated?

Why do so many people think the Big 10 should be pre-ordained as the champions of college football?

Ohio State deserves to be there, they're unbeaten. But the league has no balance and unimpressive out of conference wins.

Minn, Purd, NW, Mich St, Illi, Iowa, Penn St, IN all were involved in absolute blowout losses. Not one impressive victory among 8 teams.  Read More »

Florida does have a shot

Believe me, I hate Florida. I hate Urban Meyer. I hate Chris Leak. I especially hate Tim Tebow. I am an SEC fan, but this is not a homer pick. Right now I feel like Florida wants this game more than Ohio State. Florida has played tougher teams week in and week out and had a couple of close calls (South Carolina and Tennessee). All the money is going to be on Ohio State, and I will be taking Florida on the money line. Remember, people called me a crazy f*&^ing idiot a year ago when I posted something similar about Texas beating USC.  Read More »

Ohio St vs Florida early preview

Everyone is saying Ohio State wins by double digits, we know the majority of public money will be on Ohio State, so we need to examine why Florida might be a play here. When books set lines, they hypothetically want 50/50 action. They are not dumb, and they certainly are not expecting 50/50 action opening up at OSU -6.5. They are expecting heavy OSU action.

You guys need to turn off ESPN, because every single member of the public, every single TV caster, has brainwashed everyone into thinking OSU is the New England Patriots and the Florida Gators are Temple. The media is damn near ALWAYS wrong in their sports picks.  Read More »

Arkee Whitlock for SIU

As I have read the thoughts of others about this season, and reflected on my own thoughts about the season, really for me , the 2006 football season will always mean Arkee Whitlock.

This was Arkee Whitlock's statement at the post game press conference after the Montana game.

" I have no regrets of my career here. I think coming here is the best experience of my whole life. Coach Kill welcomed me in like a son. He's like my father. I hate to see it end like this. He's made me a man"  Read More »

Reaons BCS doesnt work again

The BCS has been, is right now, and always will be, a complete load of BS. Here's why I think Michigan got royally screwed.

1. MAKE-UP GAME FOR THE SEC- Remember a few years ago, when Auburn went undefeated in the regular season, but because the pollsters put them way down in the preseason rankings, they had to make up a ton of imaginary ground to try to overtake USC and Oklahoma? Amazing in that a couple of voters very likely put Florida into the title game because of something that happened in the past.  Read More »

ESPN people at it again

Mark Schlabach's an idiot. Go read his column, it's on the front page, right below the small Florida picture. Says "Give Gators A Shot."

Here's my issue: he and many others are inventing these unofficial "BCS proverbs" (what I call them) as they go along now. For instance:

"10. Michigan didn't win the Big Ten; Florida won the SEC. Winning your conference should be a prerequisite for playing in the national championship."  Read More »

Worst BCS snub of all time?

2001: Oregon. They were ranked 2nd in both polls, but 4th in the BCS.

2003: USC. They were ranked 2nd in both polls, but 3rd in the BCS.

2004: Auburn. They were undefeated(12-0 before the Sugar Bowl game), and won the SEC Championship.

2006: Michigan. 2nd in both for seven weeks straight until the last poll. Lone loss to tOSU...blah blah blah. You know their argument.  Read More »

Michigan screwed

Once again, the BCS fails to do its job. The two best teams are not playing for the national title. How many years do we have to witness this sorry excuse for a "system" before we will finally see a legitimate Division 1A playoff?

Someone tell me how a Florida team that barely beat Vanderbilt and South Carolina is better than a Michigan team whose one loss was a 3-point loss at the #1 team in the nation?  Read More »
