My cousin Leah had dreams of being a mother ever since she was little. Her dream came true two years ago when she and her husband Steve had twins. Eight months ago, she had another baby girl. She recently found out that she had a very agressive form of breast cancer. She has been through 8 weeks of chemo and radiation. Leah will also need to have a double misectiomy at the end of the month. Cancer does not run in our family, shes a nurse, she does not smoke, and she's only 26 years old. Because of these factors, she did not find it nessicary to go in for mamograms. She cought the cancer in the late stages, therefore making it nessesary for a double miscetomy. I encourage all women eighteen and older to get a mamogram atleast once a year, and more often if breast cancer runs in the family. Its very important, and even though its uncomfortable, it could potentially save your life.
