I'm reading this really great book called the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It's about how to change your life and help you be successful. The first habit is "Be Proactive." It talks about the fact that we can control every aspect of our lives. For example, you may think that you have to go to work. But really, no one can make you go. You choose to go to work because you want to get paid or you don't want to get fired.

What does this have to do with progressiveu.org? Well, we've all chosen to be progressive, but are we being proactive? Sure, everyone's read about the rave party, but has anyone done anything about it? If you don't like your politicians, what are you doing to support the other guy?

Hi. This is my first blog here, so I thought it would be appropriate to introduce myself. My name is Tamesha and I am a SENIOR at Westover High School in Albany, GA. I can't remember how I discovered this site, but it looked pretty cool, so I joined. However, after reading some of the posts about the Utah rave party, I was a little disturbed. It was my understanding that this site was to be about discussing issues about rights and progress, but many people were using the posts to only tell their side, then personally attack anyone with differing views. I've been on the debate team for four years, and one of the most important things I've learned is to respect other people's opinions and always listen to the other side. After all, how can you argue if you don't even know who you're arguing against?
