I wonder...

So last night I was lying in bed suffering from yet another night of insomnia. The thousands of thoughts that run through my head at night never let me sleep. So while I was lying there, I began thinking about how wonderful the world would be if everyone had an adequte home to live in, with enough food and water to their satisfaction. How great it would be if diseases became a thing of the past; how nice it would be if the earth was in perfect condition with an abundance of animals and natural resources. I've always wanted to help make the world a better place. Then I thought of something else...I believe that while our fates vary and we don't all serve the same purpose in life, the common one that we share is making the world a better place. But what happens when the world is a better place? What happens if the world is a perfect place without violence and complete peace and harmony amongst all countries of the world?  Read More »

Brain Indigestion

Everyone spends their lives seeing bad things happen to other people without actually seeing those things happen to people. It all seems fictional. The complex idea that something bad could happen to you is always dismissed. You go around without a care in the world, and what happens? Something goes wrong, and you think to yourself..."I never thought this would happen" or "I knew this happened to people, but I never thought this would happen to ME". Well that's what you get for being an idiot. Think about it...when your in your car and an ambulance comes roaring behind you, what's the first thought that comes to your head? "Crap I have to pull over"...do you even, for one second think about who's in that ambulance...or who got left behind by it? Who's life is being screwed with? I am so tired of people who just don't care about anything.  Read More »

Does this bother anyone else?

Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm just being easily annoyed, no matter, I am still so sick of hearing people say things without truth or logic to back them up. It's just ridiculus. If you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk. And I don't mean just watch the news. Bah, do research if you're really interested! Most news stations, whether they admit it or not, favor one or the other political party. They ocassionaly only give you half of the information. And people suck it all up and pretend like it's their opinion. But I guess that's just what the media is for. It's there to inform with opinion on the side, and people gobble it all up. The media is such a large influence that I think that people forget that they can form their own opinions. I know this guy who continuously quotes this reporter. I just feel like telling him that they're not his opinions to share, they're obviously ________'s opinions. It just bothers me. But I might just be grumpy because I just came home from 4.5 hours of testing and my brain is fried. AP tests are the devil.

Global Night Commute

What an amazing night. Sleeping under the stars with 5,000 other people in Balboa Park, San Diego. Can you imagine what that would be like? If you can't and didn't go, I'll tell you as much as I can.

My parents didn't want me to go, afterall I'm 17-year-old female(yes for some reason, if my brother wanted to go it would have been fine...), going with friends, in a place overnight, with 5,000 other people, without supervision, coed, all ages, and it took place downtown. Somehow, for one reason or another, I convinced them to let me go. Who knows when I would have another chance to be a part of something so moving? The experience was unlike any other. People of all ages gathered together across the nation and in other countries to show our governments that we care about these "invisible children". We care about the 30,000-50,000 children already abducted and forced to take part in a rebel army. We care about the 130 people who die every day just from violence. We care about the 1.7 million people forcibly displaced. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you should.  Read More »
