If your going to college...READ THIS!!!

A new report has come out saying that Americans have fewer friends than any other country!!  Isn't that sad? Researchers say that we have fewer friends today than we did two decades ago.  On average, each person in 2004 reported 2.08 close friends—those they can discuss important matters with. That's down from 2.94 people in 1985.

People who said they had no one with whom to discuss such matters more than doubled, to nearly 25 percent

Remember when we were kids and the chains on our bikes would get messed up. Don't worry anymore(new bike invented with no chain)

June 20, 2006 Most childhoods would be incomplete without an incident involving lost skin and a bicycle. Indeed, given that the bicycle is the world’s favourite means of transport  – double the number of cars) and they all feature a highly-efficient but potentially dangerous chain drive, we’d suspect that most people will have had an unfortunate recollection of an incident involving a de-railed chain, lost skin, grease and perhaps a destroyed garment or two. So we like the idea of a bicycle without a chain. US-based Dynacraft has introduced just such a beastie - the Dekra-D Drive bike has an internal drive shaft which offers less maintenance, greater safety and a cleaner solution than a conventional chain-driven bike by replacing the parts of the bike that cause the most problems and require the most maintenance - the chain and derailleur.

Heard of the monkey man?? CHECK THIS OUT!!

Has anyone ever heard of the monkey man??  Me neither until I read this article on yahoo.com.  Apparently in an Indian village in eastern West Bengal state there is a 27 year old man that the villagers and others around the world think is a Hindu monkey god Hanuman -- worshipped by millions as a symbol of physical strength, perseverance and devotion.

These people think this becasue this man has a 13 ft tail, mostly covered by hair and make up of skin, climbs trees, and collects bananas while in the tree.

Presbyterian Church approves leeway for ordaining gays

Presbyterian Church approves leeway for ordaining gays.  How does this sound to you.  Maybe I shouldn't feel excited but I do.  Finally a bit of equal rights.  As a catholic, I know that I shouldn't feel this way but I am human and that is how I feel.

The vote by the Episcopal House of Deputies came just hours before Presbyterians, at a separate meeting, approved a plan to let local congregations hire gay ministers if they wish.

dan rather leaves the cbs news

The 74-year-old Rather has complained of being virtually forgotten at CBS Corp. since his exit as anchor last year, six months after a discredited story on President Bush's military service.

Rather was both gracious and blunt in a statement about his departure.

"I appreciate the words and gestures contained in today's press release by CBS," the statement began.

"I leave CBS News with tremendous memories. But I leave now most of all with the desire to once again do regular, meaningful reporting. My departure before the term of my contract represents CBS's final acknowledgement, after a protracted struggle, that they had not lived up to their obligation to allow me to do substantive work there. As for their offers of a future with only an office but no assignments, it just isn't in me to sit around doing nothing. So I will do the work I love elsewhere, and I look forward to sharing details about that soon."

LAPD's new police car! LOOK!!!

Has anyone heard of the LAPD new police vehicles??  I heard they were being compared to something like the cars that James Bond would drive. But from what I read, they are nice but not close to a bond vehicle!!It's equipped with a device just above the front bumper that will shoot darts embedded with a GPS tracker at fleeing vehicles, reducing the need for high-speed chases. When linked wirelessly to headquarters, another device allows cops to view live feeds of networked surveillance cameras from the driver's seat, once they're within a mile of a crime scene.
