School is still in my future!

My school found some schollarships for me. I recieved $1500 to help offset the $3458 I was shy. Now I will be paying $35 a month but it is a small price to pay to get closer to my dreams.I am so happy I am crying! God truly answered my prayers here!
I put a temporary tattoo on my arm of the chinese symbol "dream" When I look down at it my hope is becoming a reality.  Read More »

I am a mom of 2 bipolar daughters. I have been on welfare before and worked my way off it. I have seen how the juvenile justice system treats our children and the adult system treats the mentally ill.My daughter has been before a judge and I defended her to the death to make sure she didn't become a statistic.  Read More »

Some of this would be the actions of a typical teen . For her life is different. She doesn't have stability because her moods fluctuate to the point where her medications just stop working. She cannot functions when they do.  Read More »

Can anyone who has ever had a child understand what it is like to hold that baby for the first time and hope for such a bright future or atleast that they would do better then you did?

I just found out my teenager is drinking vanilla extract every morning to get drunk before school. She had it in a bottle in the refrigerator. I thought it was tea and took a sip. I didn't know what it was so I brought it to my husband to try. We both realized what it was. She had been drinking it for a couple of months because she wanted to feel numb and stop the pain she was feeling. Who drinks vanilla extract of all things? I don't have any alcohol in my house except that.  Read More »

I never knew the weigh in Gold family had on one another's worth. We all come from something no matter what you believe in be it a greater God or simply a mother who was ready to welcome you into your life to share with those she loved. You were completely alone when you entered this world. You needed someone to feed you and change you ,help you walk and teach you to fly. You began to learn you had nothing to fear because these parents loved you. They would never let you fly alone. They nurtured you taught you right from wrong and tried to see that you did the right thing. They gave you an education .Maybe not at an ivy leagues school but they passed on everything they learned from their parents and life experience. They gave you all they had.  Read More »

What do you do when a parent has a stroke and needs your help to survive?

My father in law had a stroke. My husband and I were living our lives as we knew them looking out for him from a distance. He now lives with us in a tiny 3 bedroom house. He is providing a wealth of knowledge for our children and the example we set will teach them compassion for people who are older then them.

My husbands brother lives in Texas. He has a ton of money and could help out his dad anyway possible. We don't want his money. He can support pop from a distance through talking and encouragement. He just can't be there for him because his job requires travel. My husband and I are getting by but wouldn't dream of walking away from him. I believe he is giving us everything by passing on that wealth of experience he has had living in his 70 years.  Read More »
