My student loans all kicked in about August, and I didn't have a job. SO that meant that I needed to apply for a forebearance due to unemployment. The catch was I needed to pay $150. My question is how am I expected to pay 150 dollars that I don't have because I don't have a job? Luckily I did get to get a deferment for a year so my payments don't start back until next year. But Talking to friends and other students, they are having a rough time with loans as well. Read More »

"If I Did It..."
Ok i heard about this the other day....OJ Simpson has written a new book: "If I did do" It tells how he would have kill Goldman and Brown. Now what a wonderful way to keep saying "i'm innocnet" than to write a book describing how you'd kill someone. WHy would anyone want to do something like that other than for the money. And Fox is giving him a 2 hour special to talkabout the book and other stuff. Read More »
Poetry Scams
Every day thousands of poets get scammed by contests and publishers. The scams do all they can to get poets and other writers to submit their poetry, but end up having to pay so much money for awards, conferences, and books.
Poetry.com is the most famous scam. Poets are lured in with the hopes of big money and no entry fee. THen poets get accepted and the poet has to pay before the poem can be published, then they are told they are a semi-finalist and need to pay money to receive the award. Read More »
Gulianni
Recently former Mayor Rudy Gulianni announced that he will run for Presidency in the next election. SOme people are already discussing his life choices like being Pro-choice and that he's on his third marriage. 1. a man's personal life, like his marriages should not be an issue when it comes to electing a new presdent. 2. his ideas on various issues may have good outcomes. Gulianni, in my eyes, reacted better to 9/11 than Bush did. Gulianni is the type of politician that wants to get in and understand his public. Read More »
Sexuality
OK I know there is a lot of debate on whether or not gay marriage should be legal or not. I say what's the problem? SO what if two men or two women love each other, they should have the same rights as a man and a woman. A couple is a couple, and love is love. Thats what it boils down to. Some people say "well it's a sin," I was raised to believe the same thing, but at the same time will we start outlawing other things considered a sin? Will it be illegal to lust over someon or be jealous, or how about worshipping something other than a Christian God. This country was founded on freedom, and in my eyes that includes the freedom to marry anyone you so choose. Read More »
Stem Cell Research
There is a lot of debate over stem cell research whether it moral or whatever. I think that stem cell research will only benefit man-kind. Since the embryos are donated and are used with the consent of donors it's not like anything bad is happening. Stem cell research could help scientists understand diseases like cancer, parkenson's and even AIDS and maybe, hopefully, lead to cures for one or all of them. People want to find cures for these diseases and more, but when stem cell research is working on that then they don't want the research. That doesn't make sense to me. Granted I don't understand a whole lot about it, but if we can help make people better and save lives...what the problem? Why fight finding cures and understand how illnesses work. Read More »
Cleaner Earth
A couple weekends ago I spent the day at a national park here in Western Pa called Ohiopyle. There are hiking trails, bike trails, waterfalls, streams and gorgeous gorgeous trees. It was the perfect time of year to see the changing leaves. We admired waterfalls, and hiked for a couple miles just enjoying the nature around. We rested on a rock in the middle of stream and watched the water flow as a beaver went about looking for food. It was the perfect day. Read More »
Voting
Well election day is over and the votes are in. Now it's time to see how those who won will do in their offices. A lot of young people don't think that their votes count for anything, but it does especially in general elections like yesterday. This was our chance to say who we wanted as governor, representative etc. These are the people you can actually talk to. I have had conversations with Senator Barry Stout from Pennsylvania about health care and college aid, and he listened. These are the people who listen to our needs, ideas and concerns and hopefully come up with ways to improve this country of ours. Read More »
