I don't think we need welfare program at all. It was created during depression era, so I understand the needs at the time. But now we are not in depression and welfare is only creating problems and not helping anything in our society.

Only thing it does in this country is creating welfare generation, who does not work and get welfare checks from the govenment to live. Now, forth generation of welfare family is starting to appear. For three generations, they did not work, and just get money from the government, and those money are from us, tax payers. Why oil price so critical in the world of today?

I think its because we use it all the time, and we see the price all the time. Because of that we are very sensitive about the price change. Most of American people owns a car or two, and they drive around the cities and towns. Unlike smoking cigaretts and cigars, everyone uses gas to travel. This is free market country, and businesses can change their price whenever they want to, as long as their consumers buy their products. Same thing to oil companies. You can deposit your money unlike paying monthly payment, and use that money in the game. And if you earned enough money in the game, you can pull them out to real world! same value as game money. Well, there is a currency difference, so you have to calculate how much you are going to pull out from the game.

Is global warming really happening?

I really don't know what to believe. Many environmentalist said that we are in big trouble because of global waring, and some said that global warming is just a nonsence that creates panic. Some environmentalists said rise of temperature is because of that we are in time interval that temperature is higher than other interval. Research provided the data saying it happened before many times and there are nothing to worry about. And some said temperature is not increasing but decreasing. And of course, there are people who talk about global warming as end of the world. I know that we should worry about environment and pollusion of the air and water, but I don't believe in global warming theory. I think whatever we do in this world, nature will take care of it somehow. Mother nature is powerful and we don't understand not even just little part of it. And we talk about end of the world and destroying the earth. It might be selfish answer but let the mother nature worry about the problem, and live you life. If there are really a global warming, we can't stop it, unless we destroy everyting we created in past 200 years and live like our ancesters. Or, develope a new technology to prevent the problem. But I don't think that is going to solve the problem. As long as we humans live in this world, there will be some problem, and I think that is what it suppose to be. In this universe far as we understands it, noting can be "created or destroyed", so whatever we do, it will not destroy anything. Is this high gas price really oil company's fault?

For past few weeks there were many articles and broadcast news on TV about gas price. Most of those articles blamed on those oil companies' for the rise of the gas price. In April 28th, CNN broadcasted about ExxonMobil's quarterly profit which as 8.4 billion dollars. It was showed at USA Today on same day news paper. In this article, you can see how bias this article has. It showed how much profit Exxon made in dollars, and compared with other industries not with dollars, but percentage of some sort. The article chart said 'Net profit margins of other sectors and industries, the average over the last 12 months" and Energy was 13.2%, Techonolgy was 15.0%, Software was 21.6%. I don't know what this percentage means but it doesn't look much to me, compare it to software and technology. In this chart, they showed only Exxon's $ amount of company's profit margin, and other companies has percentage in it. Readers of this news paper might think that just look at the numbers of Exxon's profit, and say 'that's why gas price is so high', but they didn't show other conpanies' profit margin in dollar amount. Such as Exxon has 9.3% margin, and  Microsoft, has 31.6% margin. It doesn't mean Microsoft has three times higher income than Exxon, but they have three times higher growth in their company. We don't know how much money Microsoft made in last quarter. And it also said that Exxon's profit margin went up by $0.5 billion from 2005. I'll say good for them! What does that got to do with anything? Its business, and this is free market country. What is the problem? They don't have to lower their price to just favor us! Oil price is not only thing does that. Microsoft is doing same thing, and other food companies, manufaturing companies, and even clothing companies raise or stay same as before. Shortage of oil MAY cause gas price go up, but that doesn't mean oil companies' profit goes up as well. Exxon made more money because of their business and trade skill, not because they are monsters who tries to strangle people to give money to them. Businees is very simple in some way. All you have to do, in Exxon's view, is buy oil from or pump oil from refinery and calculate how much money they spent on certain amount of oil and add some of their profits to it, and sell it to retailers. And it is happens to be no more than 10 cents per gallon that oil companies make out of gas. 10cents! is that THAT much to people? they make only 10Cents!!! oil price is about $2.80 now but about $2.00 is for cost of oil itself and transportaion, and state, federal taxes they have to pay.  Read More »
