What About the Short People?

Recently I went shopping for new work clothes: black dress slacks and a button up white shirt. Let me first explain my proportions. I am a 5'1 and a half (don't forget the 1/2 inch, it's very important.) have quite broad shoulders due to weight training from basketball and wide hips.

The first item I attempted to find was my dress slacks. I went to the Petite section. Well, apparently that section is only for short people with non-existent hips. On to the women's section. Their size six pants fit me in the waist, however, I could have worn these slacks and had built in slippers as well. They went well beyond my feet. Joys. Of course, these are the ones I bought, they are generally rolled up with a rubberband.  Read More »

To Sleep or Not to Sleep

I had this lovely blog halfway finished when my dial-up connection decided to fail, therefore causing the loss of all my work. Damn phone calls!! Here is my feeble attempt at replicating what I had before.

Maybe it was the Matrix that scared me off from pills, but either way, pills are something that I'd like to avoid at all costs.  Read More »

It was overall pretty mindnumbing work, but a darned good way of making a hundred plus dollars in a day's work. There was one issue that just kept popping up though. The ballot was written in both English and Spanish.

Elderly people came up, complaining they couldn't read the ballot because the print was too small. The reason the print was so small was because they had to stick so much material onto the ballots.  Read More »

What exactly do kids learn in school?

What exactly do kids learn in school? Being a senior in high school myself, I have a first hand knowledge of what kids are supposedly "learning." I am currently enrolled in a regular senior English class. Having overloaded my schedule with ten classes and working as much as possible in order to save for college, I was unable to fit in AP Literature, therefore I attend the "normal" English class.  Read More »

American Values

...or lack thereof.

As racism has declined a new threat has emerged to a certain group of people. It's called homophobia. Contrary to popular belief, homophobia is not only the "fear of homosexuals", it's the fear and/or contempt of homosexuals. This leads to violence, slurs and hate of those that are gay. It's the red-hot burning passion, a zealous hate for those that are so inclined to love someone of the same sex.  Read More »
