Death Toll+

Pregnancy- It is a beautiful thing, right? Something miraculous and fantastic, something to bring joy into peoples lives. No one can really argue that, but, if that is the case then why is a different pregnant woman reported missing almost daily?

The news is always full of scary stuff, but the overwhelming reports lately of woman kidnapped and murdered simply because they are carrying a child is just a bit too horrific. The pattern of the human soul and mind doesn't always make much sense, but it seems it has grown even more perverse as more and more women dissapear.

So whats the deal? Why are these occurences becoming so common? And how can this scary trend stop, before more women and their unborn babies add to the death toll? Can it be stopped?

The Work-Place

Normally, my blogs/articles, post an opinion, suggestion, or idea, but in this one I'd like to pose a question. I need logical answers, and I thought I'd come to my fellow bloggers for some valid ideas.

When I started at the current job I have a little over two months ago, I was promised 39 hours a week, day time hours, and later I was promised to move to a slightly higher position, with higher pay. The latter offer came over a month ago. However, none of these initial garuantees have been fulfilled. My company knows that I will be leaving in less than two months, however they said it would not hinder the above mentioned promises.  Read More »

Quick Tip

This past weekend I went to my college orientation. Most of my friends have not yet gone to theirs, and I had several questions to answer when I got home. "Was it really important?" "Did it make you more nervous, or make you feel better?" "Any advice?"

Well, yes, it was important! It is a time of preparation, and I also met my roommate, which means I know what I should expect this fall. I admit I was nervous before I went to orientation, but now my fears are calmed, and I have several new friends, including upperclassmen. So my worries are signficantly lower.  Read More »

The Moral Problem

Morality is a question of one's own beliefs and standards. Right? Yes, I agree, as individuals we must all choose the standards we feel comfortable with. Some of us will feel comfortable with premarital sex, some will not. Some will feel comfortable with stealing from employers, some will not. Some will feel comfortable with lying to enhance their own lives, and others will not. None of us can say, "You are wrong", and actually have authority to judge the person we disagree with. So in essence, the moral choices society makes today are completely individual, left to our own conscience.  Read More »

Some time ago I was in a discussion with a coworker about the state of our economy and the unemployment rate in our nation. My co-worker tried to argue that President Bush was a bad president because the unemployment rate was incredibly high.  Read More »

In Uganda, childhood is not a carefree time in one's life. It is the growth of a terrified being. James, and his two brothers, were no exception to this unsigned law. At just 11 years old, James and his two brothers were captured by Uganda forces called the Lord's Resistence Army. They were brutalized and taught to kill.  Read More »
