My Response - Most Offensive Email ever

Tagged:  •

So, in a series of 3 blogs, I have previously posted what is collectively the most offensive email that I have ever received. The message was sent to me after I came out. Here is the reply that I sent in return. THIS is what I have to say. These ARE my own words.

"OK, well to start off, I'd like to say that your series of messages was probably the most offensive series of comments that I have heard since coming out.

Final Part - Most Offensive Email ever

Tagged:  •

OK, if you've read parts one and two, you know that the views expressed are not mine. This is the third and final part of an email that I received after coming out. I will also be posting my reply that I sent him, so look for that soon.

"A little more from the psychological. I can't argue that there are certain parts of your chemical make up that in some strange way affect your sexual preference. BUT, what about those with naturally violent demeanors, what about bi-polar people, or hypochondriacs. They all believe that their reality is TRUTH. Truth is not relative. By definition, it is absolute, it HAS to be otherwise the results are ONLY chaos and self-love which in turn destroys a society. Study the Romans, the Egyptians, even Israel. Any time historically a society begins tolerating self-serving, individual, and relativistic paradigms, the society destroys itself from the inside out and a more disciplined societytakes it over. As a Christian, I believe that God's truth is absolute truth, whether I like it or not. I obey God because I love Him and know that everything in the Bible points to "betterment of the whole". That means, sacrificing my own desires sometimes. Study this out. If you look at all of the commandments and mandates God gave to His people, you'll realize that there is scientific proof that reinforces the idea of preservation of human life as a whole. God would tell them to poop outside of camp, why? Because of sanitation reasons. Hyssop was something they used to clean their dishes with, by God's command. Why? They've found that hyssop contains a chemical characteristic that actually kills microbes and sterilizes the surface it's applied to. The list goes on and on. With a God that proves Himself over and over to be perfect, I will give my life to that cause. Nothing in history, no committe or political party has that record. Only God. Christians are very imperfect and can be the stupidest people on the planet, (trust me, I know, I go to a Christian school), but that doesn't mean that the pursuit of Christ-likeness, which is Christianity is wrong. It's not a religion. Religion is man's attempt, through tradition, rituals, and scribed beliefs, to get to God, or to get God's attention. Christianity is simply believing on God, that Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice to take away our sins, which are death or anti-life in practical terms, and bring us back into connection with the very Creator who made us from the start. God didn't create you imperfectly, unfortunately, the world is not perfect, and that's why Christians exist, to somehow hopefully impart the love, life and virtue of God into this world. If not, we'd just be with Him in Heaven, but there is a very specific purpose to why we are here.  Read More »

Midterm elections

I am getting really excited for the midterm elections. For one, it will be the first thing that I will get the oppertunity to vote for, since I turned 18 this past summer. But, more importantly, it should tilt the balance in congress to a more democratic legislature. I hope that the political system in America will start to be a bit more progressive. The last 6 years has really seemed to be a step backwards.  Read More »

coming out straight

Tagged:  •

I often wonder why gay kids have to come out gay. Why don't straight kids have to come out?

It's unfortunate that we live in a world that forces roles upon us from a young age. Guys are supposed to like football, playing in the mud, and bugs. Girls like the color pink, dolls, and playing dress-up.  Read More »

Underage Drinking

Tagged:  •

I think that underage drinking (by that I mean during high school) is a real problem where I live. My county, in rural Iowa, has the 2nd highest percentage of underage drinkers in the country - second only to orange county California. If you do not drink in high school, it is sometimes very difficult to find entertainment in my town. I think that my town is especially bad, because historically, my town is predominantly German and Irish catholics.  Read More »

Part 2 - Most offensive email ever

Tagged:  •

Ok, since the first part turned out to generate a decent amoutn of conversation, here is part two. Again, the views expressed are certainly not mine. This is part of an email that I received after coming out. Any statistics can be assumed to be false, because the original author couldn't site his sources.

Here it is: "Also, statistically speaking, homosexuals are extremely self-depricating. They are the class group with the most frequent and dangerous problems. STD's, AIDS, Heavy Drug Use, and even the most likely for suicide. All these are facts and you can research my arguments. So in a small summary, homosexuality is extremely dangerous on all levels of the human existence.  Read More »

SAT 2 - Weird

Tagged:

So, I just got home from taking the SAT 2, otherwise known as the SAT subject tests. I personally found them to be very strange. I had never really taken a standarized test in the format that they are in. The SAT 2's were similar to like that act or sat in some ways, but they were also alot different. The most odd one that I took, was the United States History test. It was like 90 random, trivial American history questions and there wasn't like a reading section that you were supposed to get your answers from, you were just expected to know them.  Read More »

SAT 2

Tagged:  •

So, tommarrow I take the SAT 2. It will be my first and last time taking it. This definitely scares me. I plan on applying early decision to my number one college. I found out this summer, when I visited the school, that the SAT subject tests were required for admission. I have never taken these tests, so I am really worried about them. I am taking 3 subjects. The subjects are American History, Advanced mathermatics, and literature.  Read More »
