On Tuesday, 14MAR06, our great president came to Canadaigua, NY. Supposedly he was here to speak about the Medicare program. At the Canadaigua Academy, Bush made his 'sales pitch' to approx 100 senior citizens. He repeatedly said "take a look" at the program or said that it's "a good deal." Some experts said that the sales pitch probably did little to convince the program's detractors. The goal of Medicare Part D, by offering drug coverage through private companies, is to promote competition and lead to lower prices. Ann Marie Cook, president of Rochester-based Lifespan, said seniors continue to struggle with the program. "For those people who have worked out their Medicare Part D issue, it was a nice visit for them, but we still know that people are experiencing problems," she said.
