Greed.
A selfish, excessive desire.
It has become so mainstream,
So common in our present day.
Its connotation has become more and more reputable.
Something not to be ashamed of,
Although I believe it’s something to be looked down upon.

Some say it is controllable,
But I beg to differ.
There is something inside you
That triggers that crave.

A volcano of envy,

New World

What have we done,
To achieve a world like this?
We’re disconnected to life,
And connected to this strive for bigger and better.
We have perverted this idea of love into a want for more.
For clothes, bigger cars, and more objects.
This is not what life is about, my friend.

This world is slowly going,
Towards something I am scared of.
It can be prevented,

Maggie.
To everyone, she is a little, half-Egyptian, beautiful girl.
To me, she is my cousin, but most of all she is my hero.
Why, people might ask. Why Maggie?
Maggie is my hero because she is the most mature teenager you will meet.
Not the teenager our society has come to know: blurred and molded by a cloud of smoke and a beer bottle in one hand.

Who Knew?

A couple of random thoughts that I have been thinking about lately…

I find it weird to think that we’re moving, not the sky. When I look up, it looks like the clouds are moving.

Egypt

My buoyant ambiance is dampened with the culture shock of this unknown territory of Egypt. I am sitting in the back of this archaic taxi, catching snippets of anxious eyes in the rear view mirror. For the first time I can see the resemblance of my mom and me in that mirror, the fact that has been pushed away for so long.
