Impeachment more directly from the People

I discovered a while ago that impeachment can be brought forth more directly from the people than just having the House of Representatives propose it.

If you want impeachment you can have it! Impeachment is on the table even if Pelosi doesn't think so.

"Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utilized rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives, which allows federal impeachment proceedings to be initiated by joint resolution of a state legislature. From there, Illinois House Joint Resolution 125 (hereafter to be referred to as HJR0125) was born.

Disappointed... Do your research

I have to say I have been highly disappointed in the ProgressiveU community so far. I thought there might be a lot of intelligent informed young people speaking about the issues. However most students blogging here are only doing it for the opportunity to maybe win a scholarship whereas I am a passionate blogger.

I kind of run like 5 blogs in total but I have two main ones. I have my personal blog and I have a socio-political blog. Those are my main ones and I blog here sometimes.

No loopholes when it comes to torture. Those who committ torture will be prosecuted. Their day will come

The Military Commissions Act aka the torture bill gave immunity to Bush administration officials from beign prosecuted for war crimes however there is hope.

This page tells of how we can still get torturers prosecuted even if their own government granted them immunity.

Occupation and war

Amy Goodman said it perfectly. No one likes to be occupied.

If Canada came and occupied us to oust president Bush we would be glad president Bush was outed but Americans would fight against the occupation after that. Americans would fight against our occupation. So why are people so surprised that other people fight occupation?

Iraq and Palestine's biggest problems are the result of occupation.

Alternative News Sources

In order to really know what is happening in the world it is very important to get your news from many different sources and to read independent news in addition to mainstream news.

One of the best independent news sources I have found has been Democracy Now!
It is a radio show that comes out every day. It covers perspectives not often covered in the mainstream news and is free of many corporate media news's biases.
