Let me try this again

God is not an objective THING.  This just came to me not too long ago and the fundamental basis of Buddhism came through, rather vaguely but it's becoming clearer.

Since God is greater than time, he cannot exist in a particular point in space (or vise versa).  With that in mind, God is everywhere and no where in particular.  Since God has no objective reality or subjective conscious, then God never seeks to change anything. He does not feel contentment or unhappiness and so he does not judge and does not care if we believe in him or not.  He has no ego, hopes or dreams.  He does not want mankind to do any particular thing.

This Month in Texan America

April is child abuse awareness month.
May is American stroke month.

June might be muscular dystrophy acceptance month,
and maybe July is Cerebral palsy understanding month.

I'm not really sure, I think they change around a lot.

In April did you visit all the people you know who were abused as children and throw them a child abuse party?

Absolute zero and Buddhism: Where science and religion meet

Tagged:  •

This is my rebuttal to a conversation I had over the internet.  Circular reasoning versus science.  Does all matter die away?  Will the universe end based on the 3rd law of thermo dynamics?  Here is a laid back thought envoker.

If what you are asking is if eastern religion and practical western science can find a happy medium, then I doubt it. When you consider eastern thought and their Vedic traditions, you see a kind of renunciation of science because it refuses internal realization. Then again, science is true and can't be avoided.

Is it better to live a self-absorbed life to satisfy our time on earth, or forfeit our ambition and desires to God?

Is it better to donate blood because the prize of money, or for the prize of eternal life with God?

Is there a difference?

To live in constant selflessness and charity in hopes of an eternal life would seem pompous.  I am making a big assumption here by saying that all selfless acts of kindness are still tied to the ego in some way but I don't think I'm far off.  Even the Hindus believe that the best life is in the Tantric cults that fully renuciate any and all karma for action.

Incursion on Catholic Rule

In China on Wednesday Catholic priest Liu Xinhong was ordained by the state church without consulting the Vatican first for approval (Unauthorized appointments of bishops flout pope, USA Today - May, 7 2006).

The following day Xinhong and one other bishop were excommunicated from the Catholic church.  China's decision to privately ordain their own priests was seen as "a grave violation of religious freedom." by Vatican spokesperson Joaquin Navaro-Valls.  Negotiations between China and the Vatican have no made any progress on the matter since 2000.
