hey friends! i havent been on here in a minute. well there is this local group in my town called the jump out boyz, and im really lovin their cd right now. i swear i listen to it 24/7 for real! :) well anyway, im trying to figure out how to put a particular song on a website, so im going to try to put it on here first. u guys can listen to it if u want to. its hip hop (jus thought i would put that in there because not everyone likes hip hop) and there are some explicit lyrics (thought i would put that in there too because some people get offended by that type of thing). well anyway some of the people in the group are friends of mine and they're really proud of this. honestly im proud of it too. so those of u who decide to listen to the song let me know what u think okay? i mean honest opinions--no "its bad because all hip hop is bad" type comments please. hope the music works =)

so my best friend is a boy. we are extremely close. we're always seen together, so a lot of people think that we go together. when we tell them that we are just friends, they kind of smile and say "okay." some people think that we are friends with benefits. u know..."fuck buddies." that irritates the hell out of me. i dont understand why its so hard to believe that we could just be friends.

i was one of the first people in my city to hear about myspace.  a friend of mine from new jersey (where i used to live) asked me to join so it would be easier for us to keep in touch.  i did and i instantly became addicted.  i used to know how to do all that advanced stuff that no one else knew how to do yet.  gradually everyone got into myspace.  then the news reports came out about sexual predators on myspace, and my mother made me delete mine because she said that there was too much info about me on the site and one of the predators could gain access to it easily.  i tried to tell her about the privacy settings on the site, but she wasnt hearin it.  so she made me delete my page.  i was so sad.  i think that my mother's concerns are completely unnecessary.  only idiots get raped through the internet.  i apologize if i have offended anyone with that last statement, but lets be for real.  there is no way for these people to find u unless u tell them.  if u are dumb enough to go meet some person that u hardly know, thats ur business, but u cant really be mad if something happens to u because in a way u asked for it.  im not saying that anyone deserves to be raped, im just saying that people wouldnt get raped by online predators if they were more careful.

some people think that hip hop and other media has a negative influence on teenagers today.  first let me start by saying that i LOVE hip hop.  however, i know that a lot of hip hop is fake.  some of these rap artists have actually lived their rhymes, but most of them are just pretending.  they may perpetuate the "more money, more hoes" lifestyle, but many of them have wives and kids at home.  i think that a lot of young people, especially blacks, look at this and strive to be like it.  also, a lot of hip hop videos have half-naked women shaking their butts while men call them hoes and bitches.  i think a lot of people get the misconception that hip hop is calling all women hoes and bitches, which i dont think is the case.  there are certain women who are hoes and bitches, which is who i think hip hop's lyrics are directed at.  since i know that im not a hoe or a bitch, the lyrics dont offend me.  i think that people, men in particular, regard women the way women regard themselves.  this is a lesson that im trying to get across to this freshman i know.  i think she looks at these videos and thinks she needs to be like the women in them to get attention from boys.  she is becoming more and more like a little sister to me, and i just dont want anything to happen to her.

i just got off the phone with a friend of mine.  she was all upset that her boyfriend has still been keeping in contact with his ex.  my friend's not exactly the jealous type, but her boyfriend is not keeping in touch with this girl in the "friend" sense.  that would have been okay, but she sends him messages like "i love u" and "when will i see u again" and "let's go to dinner this weekend," and he tells her that he loves her and misses her.  i cant understand how he can tell my friend that he loves her, but still talk to his ex-girlfriend like this.  i think that is so disrespectful.
