I am an animal lover, no denial there, but I am not like the old lady with 70 cats. However, today I lost my puppy whom was only 5 weeks old. Many might see this blog as stupid and dare i say pathetic, but to my suprise it literally broke my heart. I cried for quite a long time and replayed over and over in my head anything I could have possibly done wrong.

I was a senior in highschool this year at JM Hanks Highschool in El Paso, Texas. I am writing a letter to my local newspaper about my situation but I thought I could share with others on here too. I have taken AP classes since I started school and I have always kept a 3.5 GPA. Not perfect, but I worked damn hard. As a Texas law you need 1 1/2 credits of PE to graduate.

Many colleges demand community service hours, which I think they should. But, so many selfish teens see this as a chore and volunteer anywhere just to get their hours. I can't tell you how many times I have seen a senior go to the animal shelter, take the dog to a running pen, and sit down in the shade and text the whole time. What is wrong with us these days to view helping as a burden.
