*More people are dead in Iraq today, thanks to an “insurgent blast” in Baghdad that killed 27 people, and wounding at least as many more. This particular “insurgent blast” is care of al-Qaida in
Iraq in retaliation for the death of former al-Q-in-Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. A letter from al-Qaida Global Inc. to its subsidiary in Iraq said “stop killing Iraqis, it’s bad PR,” and lamented allowing al-Q to form an Iraqi franchise when the
United States invaded in March of 2003. Osama bin Laden could not be reached for comment himself (he was getting dialysis), but a representative expressed concern over the killing of Muslims by other Muslims, saying that al-Qaida “needs to focus on destroying the Great Satan” first. Read More »
