On Day One

ProgressiveU is all about progress. We encourage you to think, to speak up and to reach out. As many of you know, ProgressiveU users aren't your typical high school and college bloggers. We come from across the nation to discuss the things that many of our peers don't often discuss; the War in Iraq, healthcare, education, the economy and the list goes on.

Banned Books and Points!

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

On Progressive U, we encourage you to express yourself. We want to hear all the opinions you have, so long as you don’t attack others for their opinions. Many others have not been so lucky. Throughout history, a number of authors and books have been banned from being read by various governments and communities for one reason or another.

And I know that you all are anxiously (or maybe not so anxiously) awaiting this announcement... the point at which we announce the top 25 in the contest.

As students, we all have items we no longer need. Textbooks, calculators, lab accessories and so many other school necessities collect dust while others search frantically for a place to purchase the items they need to begin their college careers. And as we all know, purchasing those necessities can cause a huge financial strain.

What is Progress, anyway?

At the start of every contest, when all the new members arrive, ready to post about anything and everything they can think of, all the faculty and older members on the site emphasize that all posts should be Progressive. If they aren't, they won't be counted towards the scholarship.
