I am getting to the point where I do not believe the legal system works for females - at least not for me. I had a child when I was a sophomore in college. The father was verbally abusive, I left him, did not reconcile after she was born and went on to a better life for me and my child. I am truly at a loss. It started with James Frey (Really with Stephen Glass). When did writing turn into lying and stealing. When did the media start attacking people like the attacks on Kaavya Viswanathan (Opal Mehta). Of course, you're heard about this young genius. She wrote this chick lit book that days after hitting shelves the Harvard Paper started shouting plagerism. I am sure you have heard about it. There is a civil war raging in Africa. The tales of "The Night Walkers" in Uganda, the war in Darfur, Sudan, and the current AIDS crisis in Africa are all over the media as stars ban together to bring attention to this nightmare. Just last year, the world was  in a tizzy over poverty. It seems people in the U.S. were unaware that poverty existed until they saw footage of poor people during the hurricanes.  Read More »
