Disney or Brothers Grimm

A little more than a week ago, my English class was going over the differences between Disney and Brothers Grimm.

Well I'm sure all of you are familiar with the Disney fairy tales, such as Snow White, Cinderalla, Sleeping Beauty, etc.

But what about the Brothers Grimm fairy tales? They are the same exact fairy tales as the Disney ones except they are a different version. They bring out the reality in the fairytales and are more detailed.  Read More »

Why do people find it necessary to steal?

Yesterday I was at work and I happened to be working in the fitting room with another employee named Laura. We were in the middle of folding clothes and answering phone calls when all of a sudden we see a 30-40 year old woman rush out of the fitting room, hand us 20 pairs of clothes, and leave.

She looked as if she was in a hurry and it seemed very suspicious. Especially since neither of us remembered handing her a number, and she came speed walking out of the MENS fitting rooms.  Read More »

Does music have have an affect on us?

Tagged:  •

I once heard someone say, that the music we listen to influences society. That it simply shapes the way we act and how we think of things.

Why would someone think that? I mean we only sing along and dance to this music, right?

However, listening to the words and understanding the meaning of the music we listen to, may have an affect on us without us even knowing it. I am mainly focusing on RAP music, most of the time there criticizing the image of a woman by calling them bad names. Or there talking about getting " Hyphey" or haveing a lot of money.  Read More »

Should 16-year-olds be aloud to vote??

Tagged:  •

As society already knows, the older age group have the majority amount of votes when it comes to the electoral voting period in the month of November.

Yet, why is it that us middle aged individuals are at the bottom of the pole? We are so lazy and focused on our involvement in our own social lives that we simply just say " I dont care" .But in order for people to listen to us, for the government to believe that our opinion should be heard, we need to increase our votes.  Read More »

Anorexia

Anorexia: Loss of appetite and inability to eat.

I happened to be watching Dr.Phil the other day, and the topic was anorexia. On the show, they viewed a 22 year old woman who had been anorexic for 4 1/2 years. That means she had to have started when she was 18/19 years old. Which is sad, it's sad to see people suffer because of there image. And of course society bases people off of there first impression, the way they look. And although some people say looks don't matter, which is a great way to see things. Some other people unfortuantely happen to view things much further than that. They see themselves as looking ugly and feeling ugly which causes them to hurt themselves. And eventually they become so addicted to there bad habits that they just cant stop.  Read More »

240 Minutes

Tagged:  •

Some Highschool Seniors don't realize how important there last year really is. Some try to get the best out of everything, yet others think its too easy and slack off. Well, little do they know they have an average of 240 minutes. 240 minutes that they have to be in class each day. That means they have to make it all the way through a quarter of 5th period until they can leave. And if they dont meet those 240 minutes, the 240 minutes that they have to average out by the end of each semester. Yea, sure they might get a warning at the end of first semester. But what happens after that? they are simply penalized and will either get kicked out of there public school or they just wont walk. Who doesn't want to be able to walk at the end of there Senior year? its the most important part. So why slack off? why let this year pass you by like it wont be your last. Because let's face it. It is, its your last year to be a kid, last year to make the best of yourself before you have step into the "real world". So, go to school, make the best of it, and average 240 minutes at school each day.  Read More »
