What's your traveler safety score?

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •

Wow! Well I guess I'll receive a high rating on this 'travelor safety score'. NOt because I'm dangerous mind you, but just because I'm a progressive blogger and a vegan and a peacenik, and have been sighted at *gasp* a JOHN KERRY RALLY.

But if you are travelling this holiday, you might wonder what the government is giving you for your score. AND if you havea bad score, they may just do something 'fishy' with your food.  Read More »

F18 crashes in CA, thankfully the pilot is alive

Crap! an F18 crashed in California. But it looks like the pilot ejected and is still alive.

The pilot was conscious and didn't appear to suffer major injuries, said Maurice Luque, a spokesman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The pilot was found near the jet, which crashed around noon in an unpopulated, hilly area of the base and triggered a brush fire that burned about five acres.  Read More »

Gore for President? An interesting anecdote...

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •

Wow! This could be quite interesting.

No link because I heard it from Former-President Clinton on the Young Turks show on Air America. (Doesn't count as gossip if it's said during/after an real interview with President Carter himself.)

Apparently, Former-President Carter has been nagging Al GOre to run for the Presidency again. He pushed Gore to run in 04 but Gore opted not to. And he's still nagging Gore to run in 08 too.  Read More »

While my brain is on polls, I remember a year ago a majority of Americans supported impeachment.

Curious...after the elections nobody has done a poll, "Do you want to see George W. Bush and Richard Cheney impeached?"

Yet here they are throwing their same strategy as before--send more soldiers to Iraq to die for a lie. And they still can't define success. They can't even define a realistic strategy except "We're not leaving until we win."

McCain wants to throw more bodies into the fray.

John Kerry, John Murtha, Fiengold, and Boxer took a brave step last year presenting timelines to get out of Iraq and to have the citizens of Iraq build a political solution. Seems they were not just 'pandering' to the left afterall. The election proved that and these polls prove it.

So why are McCain and Bush so unwilling to back down? Maybe because they have no family members to come home in a casket or be horribly maimed. Or maybe because they like getting rich over it.

Of course Bush is sweating out his legacy. And McCain is licking his chops at the idea of becoming President.

Bush's poll ratings are down at low 30s where they've been for more than a year (almost consistantly). And McCains will follow since he's out there speaking directly against what the majority of Americans want. These polls show McCain and Bush are stubborn old men with their heads buried in the sand.  Read More »

Bush's legacy-a Nightmare for the people of the middle east!

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

Sure...anyone who has the slightest knowledge of the middle east knew that there were tribal wars and religious wars going on for centuries. But there's somehow been a controlled cauldron brewing beneath the surface not a huge uprising in three different sections all at the same time.

Yet, in the course of 6 years, Bush has managed to create a Civil War in Iraq, a Civil War in Lebanon, and another whole new war in Israel. THREE SIMULTANIOUS CIVIL WARS...we've NEVER seen that EVER before.  Read More »
