religious movies and controversy...

Tagged:

Why is there any controversy over movies and religion? It's not hard to find movies that satisfy both.

Many religious people feel that movies and games misrepresent their religion and spirituality. Themes in feature films can be the very antithesis of spiritual values and so they have gone out of their way to create movies more to their pleasing or they have eliminated the cuss words or sexuality from pop films.  Read More »

"quiet warfare".... Why are we so silent on anti-abortion terrorism?

Tell me this doesnt make you want to throw up or cry.

On September 11, 2006, the fifth anniversary of the terror attacks that devastated our nation, a man crashed his car into a building in Davenport, Iowa, hoping to blow it up and kill himself in the fire.

No national newspaper, magazine, or network newscast reported this attempted suicide bombing, though an AP wire story was available. Cable news (save for MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann) was silent about this latest act of terrorism in America.  Read More »

britney, Britney, Britney spears! Is the name burned in your mind yet?

Britney Spears-A.P. Britney Spears-Fox News Britney Spears-ABC
Britney Spears-CNN Britney Spears-Huffington Post Britney Spears-ProgressiveU Britney Spears-Google Alert Britney Spears-Reuters
Britney Spears-UK Britney Spears-China Britney Spears-CBS Britney Spears-National Ledger Britney Spears-Australia ....

So yesterday's media storm over Britney Spears unfortunate lack of maturity and decorum practically brought down the ProgressiveU server but it also strained the limits of cyberspace too. ALmost as many articles and porn sites and pictures as when she posed nude last spring. Of course there's lots of fun satire and good old-fashioned snark too.  Read More »

Ever heard of the "future of Iraq project?" Yet another group of knowlegable people ignored prior to invasion

Here's a reason to listen to Air America. You learn things you didn't know from our mainstream (not liberal media).

Have you heard of the "Future of Iraq Project"? Until today, I never had. But apparently this is another group who adviced pResident Bush on dealing with the impending war (IF he was going to go to war) and it's just another group of knowlegable people who Bush tuned out.  Read More »

Best new word of 2006? plus voting machines DECERTIFIED by government...

Tagged:  •    •    •    •

This is so cool! Mirian Webster Dictionary is having a contest to pick the best new words of 2006. Lots of Bushisms and political choices.

Insurgents. Sectarian. Dwarf planet. Podcast. Islamofascism. Reggaeton. Sudoku

Vote on your favorite word. Do they have a paper trail or is it sort of a faith based e-voting system just like the Diebolds and ES&S voting machines?

Oh..and now that I think of it... e-voting machines have OFFICIALLY been DECERTIFIED by the US government! IT's about tiMe wouldn't you say? Like it's only been 6 years that people have been questioning the results in FLorida and 4 years since the GEorgia race (Clelland) and 2 years since the mysterious votes in Ohio, Florida, New Mexico, Indiana, (and more) and all sorts of over votes and undervotes and even in Harris's district more than 18,000 undervotes in the Jenning's race. (with no paper trail of course.

Well, at least the Webster vote can be fun and our democracy isn't dependent on it. And nobody is going to die if "podcast" wins over "Reggaeton", unlike in 2000, 20002, 2004, and 2006 THOUSANDS of lives have been lost due to cheating.

Voting now...what's your choice?  Read More »

Britney Spears-fit parent?

Tagged:  •

Going commando in miniskirts isn't exactly something to convince a judge you're fit to have custody of your children. Of course, Britney didn't just forget a vital piece of clothing, she looked intoxicated and unhinged.

Will a judge see it that way?

Being a star makes it more difficult to do the crazy divorce behavior, but when push comes to shove, a judge isnt looking at star power, he's looking at parent power.  Read More »

Britney's crotch exposing scandal-should she be charged with indecent exposure?

Tagged:  •

Double standards and hypocricy. That's what this whole Britney crotchless (commando) thing is about.

And though there's lots of disgust, sneers (my how we love to watch them fall), and jeering, there's also other issues that Britney's over-exposure has.

One of them fox mentioned in another thread.

If Puff Diddy hung out his manware would he stand before a magistrate and have to sign the National Sex Crimes Registry?  Read More »
