08 elections... are we ready for a female or a colored president?

Tagged:  •    •    •

Is America ready to vote for a woman for President or a black person? What do you think?

A few of us were discussing this and even though we came to our conclusions from different angles, we were fearful that in 08, our country would not elect either.

IF you look at the Allen race--Maccacca--and in TN the Ford race, you'll see how much the south still despises black people.

Interesting case-Company cought ON TAPE hiring illegal immigrants, yet media wont report...

Tagged:  •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •    •

Another reader sent me a story about the union breaking going on in their local house building market. Apparently, the builders are making a habit of hiring non-union and even immigrants for a LOT LESS MONEY and they have no insurance and no protections.

The reader spoke to the Union members who were protesting. It's really sickening what is happening. The reader said that the company was hiring immigrants, not knowing if they were illegal or legal, but they insisted they HAD TO PAY UNDER THE TABLE or the person would not be hired. They also had to sign a contract with the 8 dollar an hour wage. (think about how much carpenters usually make and you'll know this is a travesty.)

Wall Street Journal writes on Wii injuries...serious risk, or reason to get in shape?

Ballys, Curves, and World Gym...have I got an idea for you! I am copyrighting the idea and expect dividends to arrive before you use this fantastic idea.

You ever hear of banks giving out ipods for joining? (Actually, that's how I got mine!) Well, my copyrighted idea is for these fitness centers to give away a free Wii after 3 months paid membership.

It's a complete shoe-in success partnership! Because apparently you're suppose to get in shape BEFORE you use the Wii.

Safe christmas gift giving practices...

Tagged:

Holiday gift giving time is here. So it's a good idea to know what to look for when purchasing a gift.

Though toys in our country are relatively safe there have still been many preventable accidents and deaths because people didn't read labels or check parts. Sixteen children under age 15 died due to toy-related injuries in 2004, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Another 210,300 suffered toy-related injuries.

XBox... MUST HAVE item? THese truck-hijackers certainly think so!

Tagged:  •

You have to read this!

Two million dollars worth of Xbox 360’s were stolen in the UK It's the second truck-hijacking in a month. The thieves opted to steal the older xbox 360 rather than steal the much more prized Wii's and increase their odds of getting caught.

I never really considered that someone would attack a truck driver just for doing his job.

Insomniac? Heard about these natural sleep aids?

Tagged:

Who hasn't been kept awake at night? And what student here isn't experiencing the king of all insomnia?

As you can tell from my late night posts, I certainly am. That's my inspiration for this post.

According to research and the people in the know, all of us should be getting 8 hours of sleep a night; going to bed and arising at the same time; eating early and not later at night; limiting caffeign (and alcohal); and just eating nutriciously and exersizing regularly. Take it from me! That sounds much more easily said than done.

A dog for Christmas? Better do your research...

Anybody who knows me knows how much I love animals and pets. Animals are awesome and give so much love to their owner they deserve to be treated much petter than they are. We as humans should be treating our pets compassionately and lovingly. But with Christmas here, many pets are given as a Christmas gift and that's really not such a good idea to do that.

Often times, pets given at Christmas don't really match their owner. What looks adorable as a puppy may not seem so wonderful a year from now. Also, some puppies end up growing up to be too big and rambunctios for their owners and others end up being 'yappy' or others just develop bad habits.

Wii-genuine physical activity?

OMG--This Wii is a HOOT! CHeck out the YOUTUBE link (embedded since I haven't had much luck getting it to work on this site.)

Check it out. It's crazy! I can see why it's an aerobic workout. And I can see why people may throw a shoulder out of joint. But it looks like they're having a riot playing it. I certainly wouldn't call it a game for nerds or computer geeks. Neither does Time Magazine which called it the 'greatest video game made.'
