As a result of our fast-paced America we seem to be inventing illness. We cannot focus on anything for longer than five minutes, and to cure our impatience we take drugs that dull our minds and erase our personality. Pinochet

On September 11, 1973 the military overthrew the Chilean government in a violent coup (as a result, the president, Allende, killed himself). General Augusto Pinochet affirmed that he was leader of the coup, and used his position as Commander-in-chief of the army.
