Although the next U.S. presidential election is more than three years away, U.S. senator Joseph Biden (Democrat – Delaware) has already announced his intentions of

A veteran Lebanese politician, George
Hawi, was assassinated yesterday in Beirut.
Hawi's death came as a grim punctuation mark to the final round of parliamentary elections in Lebanon, the first since Syrian
occupation ended earlier this year. Hawi was formerly the secretary of the Lebanese Communist

Tom Cruise soaked by pranksters while promoting 'War of the Worlds'
Four members of a filmcrew have been arrested on suspicion of assault after squirting water at movie star Tom Cruise at the
London premiere of War of the Worlds on Sunday evening.
The crew were freelancers filming a new comedy show for Channel 4. Channel 4 has no production facilities itself; all
television programmes are commissioned from independant companies.
Cruise had been on a walkabout meeting and greeting fans, and was being interviewed by the crew under the impression that it

A progressive blog, Democrats.com, is offering a
$1,000 reward to anyone who can get United States president George W. Bush to answer a question about pre-Iraq war intelligence. The
contest comes after Bush has declined for a full month to answer any questions about a leaked secret British memo, which states, in reference to the Bush

New 'Downing Street Memos' describe Condoleezza Rice's role in rush to war in Iraq
The Associated Press has put typed copies of six recently obtained internal British government documents concerning the
lead-up to the war in Iraq on its website which are labeled "secret" or "confidential". The copies were provided by British
reporter Michael Smith, who claims he destroyed the original documents to protect the sources. An anonymous senior British
official said the documents appeared authentic.
The documents were leaked on 18 September 2004 to The Daily Telegraph in an article titled "Secret papers show Blair was warned of Iraq chaos.
